Who is Walter McCabe

Who is Walter McCabe

Well, I was born November 1st 1942, in Margaret Hague hospital in Jersey City NJ. Lives in Bayonne NJ as a child. My parents are Walter McCabe and Eva McCabe. Went to public and Catholic parochial schools.

Lived mostly in Bayonne and Jersey City NJ until I graduated college, than lived in Liberia (Peace Corp Volunteer) for 2 years. Nine month in Hooks TX when I got a job with the government, transferred to NJ. Now at 104 A Eatoncrest Drive, Eatontown NJ.

Did a hitch in the Navy Reserves
Worked for Western Electric at a lot of menial jobs for 7 years
Worked for H&R Block one tax season
Worked for a Allied roofing 3 years
Worked for a gas stations and mechanic shops for 12 years
In the Peace Corps for 2 years
Now work for the government
Was married about 12 years, lived in Bayonne NJ. Now divorced.

I came to be as I am probably as a results of my genes and life experience. Hopefully free will can guide me along the path.

My current interests are mainly around computers and web page writing. Also interested in mythology, art and music.

My interest in web page writing is partially as a means of expression and also as a way to make some impact on the world, to make my life mean something.

To a certain extent, I am a paradox. Having characteristics of polar opposites.
I am tough as nails but a teddy bear
A realist but a hopeless romantic
Well educated but know so little
Will help people help them selves but will not do it for them.
Care what I think of my self, but not what other people think of me.
I refuse to be baited into arguments. Just "Write Off" anyone who is out to cause me trouble. I have that choice.
Don't watch much television, sports and such as they are largely am artificial made up form of entertainment.

Guess you would say I am a child of the 60s. Wore bell-bottoms, colorful shirts and ornaments, sandals.

Was for peace (Still am). Never understood why we can't live in peace (Still don't). Served in the Peace Corps.

Was for freedom of expression (Still am) Never understood why people are threatened by other opinions. (Still Don't)

Was for equality of all people. (Still am) Never understood why other types people should be considered different. Why their ways are not as valid as our own. (Still Don't)

Was for joy and happiness (Still am). Never understood why people strive for more "things" than they need. (Still don't). The more "things" we own, the more "things" own us by requiring maintenance, protection, upkeep.

Was against war (Still am) Never understood why we should go to war. (Still Don't)

Smoked pot, but didn't inhale (Yeah, Right!) Had a beard. (Still do), gave up the long hair and earrings.

Guess I am kind of a paradox.

Under Construction Will probably change thisHave a nice Day
