It started in 2003, July 5, On-line: put in a sponsorship of a
child with Christian Childrens Fund after watching on TV something
about child poverty and looking for, but not finding a reason
that it is not my problem and there is nothing I can do.
Origionally it was to be a little donation here and there, but it got personal, and Now it seems that telling the story may encourage someone to become a child sponsor. STATS: My Childs name is Sasikala Kanchi, her Birthday: June 21, 1995, The child's family lives in Agraharam village, Andhra Pradesh State. south India Her father Munikrishnaiah, works in field Mother Manjula, housewife, often labor work when available. Sasikala Age 8 hails from an abjectly poor and needy family. Her father is an agricultural laborer and his hard work does not fetch him enough to support the family. His income is approximately US $216 per annum. The mother tries hard as a resourceful housewife to make ends meet with what is at hand, but there is hardly any change in their deplorable living conditions. Seeing no way out of their miserable plight, but keen on educating this child, the desperate parents sought aid from this project. Sasikala is now in school. Her favorite subject is Telugu, the regional language. She enjoys playing Kabaddi, a local game. Her health is average. Sasikala has no brothers or sisters. Her project is Balaji Bala Vikas associated with Christian Children's Fund (but no requirement to be Christian)

With some of the earlier (really quite small) cash gifts the family bought rice and household goods including a pot to cook in, later a mat, pillows and sheets, clothes. Now they are getting stone and sand to build a better house ( currently a grass hut)
